Across the globe women of all ages have pressed for change in their own lives and their wider communities. Over and over they have shown a fearless commitment to make life better for all women.
International Women’s Day (March 8) is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity. First held in 1911, no one organisation, institution or network is soley responsible for IWD.
This years International Women’s Day 2019 campaign theme of #BalanceforBetter is a call-to-action for driving gender balance across the world and the team of volunteers from our WAI Australian chapter have been working to create #BalanceforBetter since our chapter inception.
“It is our mission to be the premier national platform that represents and is dedicated to the encouragement and advancement of women in all aviation and aerospace career fields and interests.
The #BalanceforBetter message aligns well with our chapter core values. We believe in the power of a truly inclusive and diverse environment which allows each individual to thrive, grow and succeed. We work tirelessly to ensure a level playing field for women within the aviation and aerospace fields, and we believe that our chapter initiatives fuel innovation, growth and collaboration within the sectors.
We have made a commitment to increase female representation within the aviation industry and we are making a positive impact with the dedication of our members and engaging our ongoing industry collaboration”
