Our diverse membership includes aerospace engineers, astronauts, fixed and rotary pilots, maintenance technicians, air traffic controllers, business owners, educators, journalists, flight attendants, high school and university students, air show performers, airport and airline managers and policy makers.
We provide year-round resources to assist women in aviation and to encourage young women to consider aviation and aerospace as a career. WAI also offers educational outreach programs to educators, aviation industry members, and young people nationally and internationally. Our initiatives include annual Girls in Aviation Day programs for girls ages 8 to 17, Mentoring Program, Scholarship Program and the current development of our Airborne Outreach and Indigenous Programs.
In addition, WAI promotes public understanding of the accomplishments and contributions of women in aviation. We recognize the achievement of notable women through our WAI Pioneer International Hall of Fame program. The International chapter hosts an annual conference each year, which is attended by thousands of WAI members, offering various opportunities for those attending within the aviation fields. There are also hundreds of thousands of dollars awarded annually through the International Scholarship Outreach. More information on the WAI International chapter can be found here.
