Sydney Metro Airports Scholarship Awards (x3)
These awards are designed to financially assist a school-age student to attend the WAI Australia 2019 National Conference. Each award has a value of $600 each. The award includes full student delegate attendance to the conference from Friday to Sunday, including access to the Guest speaker program and workshop activities. Note that travel and accommodation are not included.
TAFE NSW Scholarship Award
This award is designed to financially assist a current WAI Australian chapter member to undertake any of the Aviation and Aeroskills courses conducted by TAFE NSW to the value of $2000. TAFE NSW offers courses for Aviation Engineering, Cabin Crew, Flying and Ground Crew.
WAI Australian Chapter Volunteer of the Year Award
The WAI Australian Chapter Volunteer of the Year Award is in recognition and celebration of the individual’s exceptional commitment and volunteer efforts within the WAI Australian Chapter.
Aerospace Institute Awards (x5)
The Aerospace Institute has generously offered 5 x 50% scholarships, up to the value of $6000 each, to WAI members for the Graduate Diploma in Strategic Leadership (Aviation & Aerospace). R&D AeroMed Award
This award is designed to financially assist a current WAI Australian chapter member to undertake a CASA Class 1 medical examination to be conducted by R&D AeroMed in either Sydney, Cowra or Temora, NSW. The medical includes the aviation medical examination, blood tests, hearing tests and ECG. Note that a separate ophthalmology examination (vision and eye test) is required and is not included at this stage.
PanAir Flight Training Scholarships (x2)
This award is designed to financially assist a current WAI Australian chapter member with fixed wing flight training costs associated with gaining any level of flying proficiency from RPL/PPL through to the CPL by providing $2000 dollar for dollar flying training. The flight training will be conducted by PanAir Flight Training in Bathurst, NSW.
Australian Chapter Scholarship Awards (x3)
These awards are designed to financially assist a current WAI Australian chapter member to achieve any commendable aviation endeavour by providing financial support towards training or for educational materials. There are three (3) scholarships to be awarded:
- Scholarship award of $7500
- Scholarship award of $5000
- Scholarship award of $2500
Fly Oz Instrument Rating Exam (IREX) Scholarship Award
This award is designed to financially assist a current WAI Australian chapter member to undertake the Instrument Rating Exam (IREX) by providing one (1) x IREX theory course, to the value of $880, to be conducted by Fly Oz Pty Ltd in Cowra NSW Australia. Note that the recipient will be required to arrange their own travel to and from Cowra and accommodation during the 5-day course.
Fly Oz Private Pilot Licence (PPL) Scholarship Award
This award is designed to financially assist a current WAI Australian chapter member to obtain a Private Pilot Licence (PPL) by providing one (1) x PPL ground theory course, to the value of $880, to be conducted by Fly Oz Pty Ltd in Cowra NSW Australia. Note that the recipient will be required to arrange their own travel to and from Cowra and accommodation during the 5-day course.
